The purpose of the color isolation project is to bring out the subject of your photo and make it stand out. This is done by keeping the subject of your photo in color while everything else in black and white. Overall, I liked this project. It is one of my favorite techniques used to enhance photos. However, it is very difficult to take creative photos due to lockdown. You also need specific photos that will work well with this technique. In order for this technique to work, the focus of your photo needs to be simple and have a solid outline (ex. a rose, a pineapple etc). For example, a sunset would not work well. My favorite photo is the second photo of the orange rose and the fourth photo of my brother with the red roses. Capturing and coloring this photo as well as playing around with dark and bright features in the photo was enjoyable. My least favorite pictures are the last two. My fifth photo (Art) was very difficult to color due to all the curves. It could have been better if I had given it more time and precision however that would have been very frustrating and time consuming. I was also not happy with the angle of this photo. My sixth picture (diner) could have been improved by editing the red tiles more. However, I am happy with the angle I took this photo from. Overall, I liked this project but the photos would have been a lot better if it were not for COVID.
